A deep knowledge of iron and steel working has been for centuries the heritage of the people of the pre-Alpine valleys north of Brescia: it is in Lumezzane that Serafino Zani (first from the right in this photograph from the 1930s) put to use the experience gained working alongside his father Bernardo Lorenzo (second from the left) and founded Zani Serafino & C. in 1963.
